Crosswinds District Camporee
Camp Reeves
April 8-10, 2005

“It was April 8th on a Friday when we arrived at the camporee.  All of the boy scouts were exited to go on the camporee and get their orienteering merit badge.  The new patrol, the badgers, also came on this camp out.  As soon as we were allowed to set up our tents it started pouring down rain.  Luckily by the time the rain got bad we had our tents up so we jumped inside to get out of rain.  The next day everything was wet and cold.  Luckily the day turned out to be nice warm and sunny. We went on many orienteering classes to learn how to use a compass and map. Then we took this big orienteering course to find checkpoints. After that there was a test and everyone passed. That night we had an order of the arrow tap out and some of the scouts from our troop got tapped out.  We stayed up a little longer and talked then we went to bed. When we woke up we started taking down our tents and went to the Sunday mass the camporee managers set up.  Later we packed the cars and headed home. In the car I was in some of the scouts were talking about the good time they had and that they were going next year to the camporee.”
